Hannah Yeoh had delivered one of the most sincere testimonials I’d ever heard in my life.
I was at Acts for the Bloom Conference, thx to Sofia for pushing my reluctant butt. But it was good. Among all of the speakers, I’ll put Hannah as my top. To be honest, as she came up the stage, without even the opportunity to blow dry her hair or put some make up on made me respect her even more. Because many girls would always fuss up about their appearances before they go up on stage.
What makes her so impactful?
Because she chose to rely solely on God strength to get her through.
As a girl myself, I personally think that women are super-dependent and has 10,000 tons of insecurities about themselves. For Eg, if it’s not your face then it’s your hips, If it’s not your hips then it’s your arms, if it’s not your arms then it’s your boobs. One day you’ll say nobody loves me, the next you go about bitching about someone, then later you decide to get a bf so you can feel the love… and besides that, many girls, especially younger ones, just love to hide their face having gangs, do not like to make the first move, waits for people to greet them first.
The worst part is because of insecurity you tend to easily accept any guy on your way and then later sleeps with him and he dumps you and you sulk about it. Then the next thing you know you face depression and regreted what you did, wishing you haven’t done it, but you did it. ish. Same old story, and you fell for it?
C’mon girls! Don’t fall into the trap! You’re stronger than that!
I think because of the bond I have with my dad, I refused to be in a relationship. For now. Imagine losing the trust and closeness with him. But think of it this way, if your dad catches you sleeping with another fella the first he would think is, “WHAT?? YOU TOUCH MY DAUGHTER?” and the next instinct, as a father and protector, he’ll probably bash your bf up. No joke.
I won’t even allow any guy to be in my sis room unless she has girls with her. She hates me for that but I love to make it distinctly clear not to mess with my sis. Trust me, I can sense fear in Karen’s ex when he sees me. It’s like, “if you ever touch my sister, you’re dead meat”. Normally brothers would do that for their sis, but in my family’s case, we have no brothers.
While girls are centered around all these things, Hannah was giving her all to the community in need of her. I think the maturity level being a Christian hits to a certain level when you give up everything, including all petty selfish thoughts and serve people with the fullest of your heart. Even Jesus spent most of his lifetime preaching in synagogues, healing the dead, crippled and blind, speaking to sinners and comforting the poor. If Jesus was hear in the 21st century, he would be among drug addicts, smokers, mat rempits, prostitutes, sick people, gays and les, unethical police, you name it! And people, especially the church would shunned him for this. Believe me?
